The New Jersey Symphony Orchestra (NJSO) is a symphony orchestra based in the state of

New Jersey. The NJSO founded in 1922, presents not only classical but also family and pops

concert mainly in 6 venues around the state. The NJSO website provides users access to the

list of events and related information such as but not limited to education and community

programs. The NJSO is more than an orchestra, it has already become part of the art history

of the state.

In this project, User Testing was performed on njsymphony.org in order to assess its effectiveness at conveying its goals and encouraging people to use the website.  Our team created materials for user testing and conduct research based on the data we collected from observation and pre & post-test questionnaires.  Following the processing and condensing of subsequently gathered insights, 5 recommendations were proposed as possible ways to improve the user experience on the NJSO website.

REFLECTION

This project is essential to me since it was my first project working with a client. During the communication, we built a lovely relationship, which helps me develop the ideas better. Since I had plenty of experience interview or observed people in psychological experiments, I saw the similarities and differences between User Testing and general scientific research. Also, it's a project that made me fully realized that the users could be different from me. I've learned this concept in class, in blogposts again and again. However, nothing teaches me better than experience.

I appreciated my professor, Elena, brought out this opportunity for us and supported me through this project. I appreciated NJSO collaborated with us. Thank my teammates for being a valuable experience in my career.
